So much as been goin' on! So I've been to the thrift stores a couple times and have made some things! The pictures are of a peasant top I made, a dress I made into a skirt, and a beach boys t-shirt I made into a halter top. Still to come: fingerless gloves made from a shirt, skirt made from dress sleeves, cat eye glasses, a mens dress shirt refashioning tutorial, a muppets tshirt refashion, vintage hat pin, fabric thrifted, and more.

Little Black Dress
Finally! My post with pictures of my newly sewn 1947 halter dress! I absolutely LOVE this flowy, cute, comfortable, stylish dress. It sure was difficult to sew, but I am so glad that I did! I wore it to a church dance and got so many complements! Haha! Enjoy my pics!

Ruby Red
Red, Red Red! For my 1947 black halter dress, I went on etsy.com and found the cutest short red gloves. The seller gave me these vintage screw back earrings! They are AWESOME! So since they were both red, I thought it'd be fun to do a "red photo shoot" where I'd make everything black in white in photoshop and color just the red accessories. So I started taking pictures and realized I need something else red to make it more vintage looking... BRIGHT RED LIPSTICK! Luckily, my mom had some. My sister helped me with some of the pictures. Sometime, I'm going to have her take pictures of me in my halter dress and petticoat.
I've been DYING to go to the thrift store (darn me not having my license yet) and will post any finds soon.

My New Hat!
In Old Town, San Diego, there's a cute little vintage store called the Johnson House full of old women's clothing, hats, bonnets, dresses, and jewlery. I was searching through a stack of hats and fell in love with this one! I've been SEARCHING for a cute vintage hat and let me tell ya, they're hard to find around here!! I just finished making my 1947 halter dress, and I will be posting pictures on here soon!
